So excited to hear that you are touring!  I wish that you could come to Tucson, Arizona at some point in the future.  While Phoenix and our Governor seem determined to give Arizona a bad name, Tucson continues to be Arizona's most diverse city.

Saying that I am a huge fan of Hiroshima is an understatement. My first experience with this amazing group was in Los Angeles in 1993/94 @ the Wilshire Theater obviously on Wilshire Blvd. Didn't know much about them, but from the first cord, I knew I had found a new & different jazz sound never heard before. I'm 65 and still play your music and many of my friends have asked me to burn some of the cuts from the seven CD's I own. I live in WA and am only three hours from Seattle. Sure would like to see you here in the NW for a concert.

Thanks for all the many great hours of mellow sounds from "Hiroshima".

Hi Dan, it's been a few years since our days at Roosevelt!!! I can't tell you how proud (we) are of just being able to say that we knew you when. Rick Akasaka still talks about your days at Whittier College. We look forward to seeing you at Cerritos Center in October. Why now and not before? Age brings you out of the woodwork. Hope we can see you before or after?  Art

I remember being in Hawaii and even though I don't remember the station it played on I remember it was when GO came out, I was hooked. I listen to a lot of rock music, but when I want to turn it down a couple of notches it is you that I turn too. I have several albums in hopes of one day buying them all, mostly I hope to one day be able to come see you live. In fact being able to do a meet & greet would be a dream come true.

Respectfully,

Barry (KUMA) Young

Thank you for coming to Yoshi's Oakland last May 2. The matinee performance was great especially your band focused on the younger audience where you educated them about the instruments and involved the audience in the songs. To see the band play with the different instruments (especially the koto and taiko) is a unique experience that all Hiroshima fans need to experience to really appreciate their music! We look forward to seeing the group again and congratulations on being nominated to the Grammy's!

Hello, I just want you to know, that your music is awsome, and June, you are the bomb on that Koto. I caught your show May 2 at Yoshi's and I really enjoyed myself.  I also brought my grandaughter, so that she could ge a taste of what real music is like. She is a performing art student, and I want her to get the best, when it comes to music.  I also want her to enjoy all kinds of music to.  When it comes to music, jazz is my genre, but I am also a litle country, hip hop, blues some rock. I wish you guys continued sucess and a happy journey.

In 1987, I was fourteen or fifteen yrs. old when I first heard the song "One Wish." It was through the static, from an old radio, that the soothing sounds came to me. I was mesmorized. The radio station at that time, only played on sunday mornings, for three hours of Smooth Jazz (Contemporary Jazz).
Since that time, I scoured the radio waves for that sound. That unique smooth sound. In 1989-1990, In Fresno, California, I finally got that "One Wish." KEZL Z96.7 was born, and I listened to that station until it went off the air, some fifteen years later. Hiroshima was and always will be one of my number one groups. Smooth Jazz and Hiroshima are synonomous. Unique, and a jewel to be held in its (their) higest regards.
Keep up the excellent work, and continue to mesmorize me, with your smooth, East meets West fusion.
Thank You.

Hi from Vancouver Island,   Saw you at Humphreys in 1990. I remember June having to tell the security guard, "I'm with the band". Later I had you sign a disco version lp of Another Place. The price was on the album cover ($2). As a "Smooth Jazz" consultant I've always thought that despite the odd vocal, your music is too beautiful for words. My dream is to promote a 3-D TV SuperFest featuring SJ/fusion musicians. I am acquainted with Jean Luc Ponty and others.I hope to work with my Pal in Winnipeg, Ted Hasiuk. As you may know, Ted has a weekly internet show, Cafe Jazz. If this concept intrigues you, please e-mail me. I know you've been to Vancouver and have chosen it for the 3-D FusionFest Venue. Exposing everyone  to this healing, evocative music has always been my dream, I sincerely hope it's your dream too.

I cannot imagine how small my perspective on our glorious universe of music would have been like without knowing and loving your fusion of ancient and modern sounds. You were the first band to touch my ears in this way. Your sound paved the way for me to embrace an entire spectrum of sounds, rhythms, and words that would have otherwise gone unconsidered, un-embraced.  Thank you.

Dear Hiroshima,

I have been a fan of your music since the mid-eighties. I was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan aboard the U.S.S. Midway CV-41. A good friend of mine introduced me to your music. What a treat that was and the thrill and enjoyment continues to this day. I just finished listening to your Legacy cd. Great job! Your previous cds are great combinations of East and West culture. It's nice to experience the great music from your performances, and I wish you continued successes in the future. If it's possible I would love to have an autographed photo of the group. May God bless each of you.

The first time I saw you (1979?)  was at the Park West in Chicago.  Your show was sponsored by WBMX an R&B station that was also famous for it's Friday night House Music mix.

I had heard one song from your first album and was sold.  I bought two tickets, came home from college, asked my sister to meet me after work for the show.  It was February, meaning very cold, and we were travelling on the bus.

I had never been to a show with African Americans and Asians in the audience.  It was warm and peaceful.  The performance was so good that you ran out of encore material and had to play some of your songs again.

When the show was over, my sister and I bundled up to prepare for our bus ride to the south side home, in the freezing cold.  However, she wanted to stop on Rush Street, at Rose's records to buy your album...and we did.  We were freezing with smiles on our faces.

Thank you for having the courage to follow your dreams.

Jano

Hello,Hiroshima!
Caught your show at the Hotel Nikko in SF on 12/19 and it was great!  I am one of the people who stopped to tell Dan and June (by the elevators) that we are renewed by your holiday show every year in J-Town, LA.  We couldn't believe we missed you in LA this year but simply solved the situation by planning a turn-around trip to SF to catch you up there!  All that you said at the Rrazz Room is true...the holiday season does somehow sap the vibe from many of us but the gift you give us back through this show is priceless!  My significant other and I have been fans for years and the very first Christmas gift I received from this person (almost fifteen years ago) was a Hiroshima cassette tape!  Its all been good since...thank you for the magic you make - we can't wait to get our Hotel Nikko Show poster of you all framed and up in our home!  Be well and best wishes on the Grammy nomination!  Peace.

Dear Hiroshima, I saw you for the 3rd time twice at Hotel Nikko & once at Yoshi's in Oakland.  I would love to see you at the Yoshi's in SF.  I didn't know there was one until you mentioned it when signing my 2 cd's I bought-Legacy & Spirit of the Season.  Your Christmas show was lovely & I love the live Legacy cd along w/the Christmas one-Spirit of the Season.  I was introduced to your music in the early 90's by my brother who lives in Indiana.  He came to visit me here when I lived in SF & we drove to Tahoe, Monterey & LA listening to a few of your cd's.  We were reminiscing our mother as she passed away in 1994 from cancer & was from Okinawa.  I love listening to your music & thinking about her as she loved music-all kinds-jazz, rock & pop.  She met my father working in a music store in Okinawa as my dad was in the Army.  I look forward to seeing you again when you are in the Bay area.  I may even go to HNL to see you.  I had just gotten back from Maui & Lanai on Thurs., Dec. 17 & bought my ticket at 5 pm on Dec. 18 & drove to SF to see you.  I sat next to this very nice guy from Vancouver whom you sat next to in the bar at the Nikko Hotel & he looked like Tiger Woods. Happy Holidays & thanks again for your lovely music-it makes me happy everytime I hear it as I'm reminded of my mom every time!

I enjoyed your show in Little Tokyo Saturday night.  I've been listening to you guys since 1980 and even though the current band is awesome, I still miss the original band members.
Danny Yamamoto is an awesome drummer and June makes beautiful sounds from her Koto.
I've always loved June's "Thousand Cranes" but it just sounds better when a female with a soft voice sings it.  I also think Dan should give an explanation of the song so the audience can then get a feel for it.  It is a sad song.
Thank you Dan and June for starting Hiroshima.  Thank you Hiroshima for 3 decades of unique music.

You rocked the house at Anthology in San Diego, Nov. 14. I was at the 7:30 show and your music was the greatest.  I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my Legacy CD and saw that you all signed it.  Thanks for a great performance. Hope you keep making beautiful music !

Sunday, November 22, 2009 6:15 PM,

Hello,
I was so fortunate to attend your concert at Santa Fe Station last night and it was fabulous! The last time I saw you live was in the 80's in Ohio at the Front Row and I sat right on the Front Row in front of June and was totally mesmerized with the KOTO.  My guy had never heard of the group and he absolutely loved it.  We both said we could have listened for several more hours, the time went by so quickly. Thanks for such a wonderful performance and I hope you come this way again sometime in the near future.

Continued Success!!!

ONE THING I CAN SAY IS, "ANATA KIREI DESU."  I MISSED YOU AND YOUR MUSIC SO MUCH.  THERE'S A LOT OF JAPANESE AND WESTERN FUSION IN YOU ALL.  "A THOUSAND CRANES" IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES.  JUNE IS THE ONE OF THE BEST FEMALE LEADS AS A JAZZ ARTISTE. I DID SEE YOUR CONCERT IN MID 80'S I BELIEVE WAS IN OAKLAND COLISUEM IN THE BAY AREA OF SAN FRANCISCO. THEY PLAY YOUR MUSIC FROM TIME TO TIME ON FM 105.7 SMOOTH JAZZ.  LOVE IT!  MORE POWER TO YOU ALL.  SEE YOU AT SANTA FE STATION CASINO, THIS NOV.21.  DOMO!

Hello Dan,

I enjoyed listening to the group last night Nov 13, 2009. It was the perfect celebration it was my birthday also.  My girlfriend Sharon and I purchased Legacy CD. You said that if you purchased the Legacy CD last night that we would get your Christmas CD as a bonus for free. Well unfortunatly there were no Christmas CD's at the Coach House.
I was wondering if you could please send us two Christmas CD's I would really appreciate it. Especially since I am sending the Autographed Legacy to my brother. He introduced the sounds of Hiroshima to me in 1979 when I was a senior in High School.  Thanks again.

Just got home from your mind blowing show at Anthology in San Diego - what a great birthday gift that was for me!!  Have loved your music since waaaay back when and love what you are doing now. Shoji's overtone chanting was really awesome, a very cool addition.  You open up our minds and hearts to new sounds, you make our bodies sway and our brains think in new ways.  You are all wonderful and I thank you for putting the glory of your talents into the Universe, for bringing our earth and its peoples together through your creations.  Blessings...Aloha

gosh! I used to watch you play in Huntington Beach and Redondo Beach when I was a CSULB student in the mid 80's. I got married and moved to Virginia, invited some of my co-workers at Arlington Hospital to watch you play at Howard University in the mid 90's and got them hooked on your music. My husband's cousins said they used to listen to you a garage parties way back when! Was at the Visual Communications fundraiser dance this past weekend and was thinking it wound be great to have you play a concert for them...saw their production piece called "Cruisin' J-town" with you in it! Your band is timeless and ageless!

Your music follows me everywhere. I've been a fan for many years now and have had the pleasure of seeing you in concert twice. More so now your music is helping me in my fight against advanced breast cancer. Chemotherapy is no fun, but I find it comforting to listen to you during my chemo sessions. I've survived metastatic disease for 10 years now. Several years ago when I was told that I would not survive my cancer I requested that two of your songs be played at my funeral. "One Wish" and "I've Been Here Before" were my selections. Your music is so moving and in many ways healing. I just wanted to tell you to please come to Dallas, I'd love to see you live again.

I saw you guys at "Yoshi's" in Oakland a couple of months ago.  Your music brought back the best memories.  I graduated from High School in 1980.  Yes, I grew up with you.  As an African American, San Francisco native who was raised 2 blocks from Japantown (in the hood), it was easy to get to know and fall in love with your soulful music. The best part about being at your concert (besides the music of course) was that I had happy flashbacks from 30 years ago.  I had a very close Japanese American girlfriend who I hadn't seen in 25 years.  Your concert motivated me to find her.  I found her on the net and we are going to see eachother next month for the first time in 30 years. Thank you for your music, for staying together and for being true examples of what celebrating musical diversity can accomplish. My love to you all.
By the way, One Wish, will always be my favorite song.

June, I just saw you at Yoshi's in Oakland, on Sept. 13, 2009.  I was the lady who told you that I was so in aw of you.  You make the group actually, in my opinion.  Listening to you play the Koto is the next best thing to being near Heaven.  As I read your comments about Jimmy Scott, I could not help but think that this is how I feel about you.  I just love the sounds you present in playing the Koto.  Without you, there is no Hiroshima.  I look forward to seeing you all again in California when you come to the bay area in San Francisco this Winter.

May your group always remain strong, and may you always know that I am your #1 fan.

Dear Dan, June, and band,

Domo arigatou gozaimasu for an amazing, memorable and joyful birthday present....the kid's matinee yesterday at Yoshi's.  The last time we saw you was at Yoshi's in Oakland, pre-baby, September 2005 I think?  And now our 2-year old daughter is a Hiroshima fan!  We really loved the talks about the instruments, and in particular the taiko demo (I hope to learn taiko drumming with her when she is a little older.) I am turning 46 on Thursday, and once again you granted my birthday wish of appearing at Yoshi's, and I am SO thrilled I could bring my little girl!  We thought it was much more fun than the grownups-only shows, by the way.....

It was great seeing you all perform last night at Yoshi's in Oakland! This was my first concert with you all in a LONG time. I grew up with your music and following your journey. (I'm from the Uptown area in Los Angeles, around Olympic and Vermont. Attended Berendo Jr. High and LA High. My first boyfriend was from East LA!) Your music and feeling is such a big part of my soul! I loved seeing your evolution and so glad to experience and share the healing and contribution you make to our diverse cultural scene in music and the arts. I remember June, Dan, Danny, and loved meeting Kimo, Dean, and Shoji (the youngster-Wow! What a voice! And what a percussionist!) It was so fun to hear where you all have been.  I hadn't heard the names Boz Skaggs, John Klemmer and Al Jarreau in a long time, so what a treat to feel their presence with you last night.  Blessings always to you. I honor all that you bring to this world.

With appreciation,
Vicki Takeuchi Wynne

I have been a "closet" fan of Hiroshima for years.  However, I was finally able to attend your performance at Yoshi's in Oakland last night and got a table right in front of June playing the koto.  What a wonderful experience it was!  I was sitting so close that I think I now know how to play the koto!  (LOL)

Also, it was a huge honor to have been able to have Hiroshima attend the Midori Kai annual boutique last Saturday.  As a new MK director, I was too shy to approach any of you to get your autograph directly but felt extremely fortunate to be in a group photo with you on stage.

My first chance listening to your music in person was a moving experience.  June's koto playing truly rocks!  That is "koto with attitude".  I loved it even more than before!

I am looking forward to attending as many of your performances that I can.  Now that I've seen you in person, your music will be so much more meaningful to me.

Your music makes me proud to be Japanese American!

I'm looking forward to Legacy. Watching the Heads Up link right about now. I'll get it as soon as I can.
If I knew that it was going to be a retrospective from which you would take requests to put on it, I would've requested that much of the music from Providence be put on it, especially of course Autumn Moon, the most beautiful sound a person can make with a musical instrument.
That song turned a lot of family and friends into Hiroshima fans in Panama and the Philippines as well as in the U.S., when you check the Facebook space.
Can't wait for Legacy.

CONGRATULATIONS...#1 on Billboard Radio Chart and your 30th Anniversary! I just received my Pacific Citizen publication in the mail yesterday...great article by Reporter Nalea J. Ko: "Hiroshima: Looking Back on 30 Years of Smooth Jazz". I remember seeing you all during Amerasia Week at California State University, Fresno Satellite College Union before you got your record deal with Arista in 1979. We've met several occasions backstage in the past, one of them was at the 2000 Chinatown Jazz Festival in Fresno where I gave you some "good luck" crane packages. I'm looking forward in purchasing your new CD "Legacy" and hope to see your performance(s) in the near future!

June:

It was so good to see you after so many years! Sometimes it seems like just yesterday since high school, but it's been nearly 45 years!
My husband, Chris, and I went downtown on a spur of the moment invitation by our friend who's a member at Higashi Honganji and we were so lucky to be able to hear you play.  I do remember you having to go to 'koto lessons' when we were kids, and it's been such a gift to the world to hear your music.
I hope we can attend another performance and look forward to perhaps seeing you again.

With Love,

We (my wife and I) just recently attended your July 23rd Concert at the Birchmere & were blown away by your performance; I have been a fan of Hiroshima since its inception and so are many of my friends; I called one of my friends to let him know that you were performing and he drove 75 mi. within an hour to make it to the concert on time! Needless to say, we were not disappointed. Just wanted to say that it was a wonderful concert and please come back to DC again (I wish you could have played "DaDa" but I understand that personnel and equipment wouldn't have allowed it).  Again you guys were fantastic and thank you for a great evening!  Sincerely, Charles Whittaker

The show in Alexandria, VA at the Birchmere was incredible. Of couse, you teased us when you left the stage and everyone wanted more.  Like fine wine, you get better with time. This intimate setting is much better than a large arena.  I'm looking forward to your new album and enjoying your classics. See ya next year.

I saw you perform July 11th in Waikiki.  The music was awesome.  This was my first concert hearing you and I left energized and pumped.  I couldn't have been to a better concert. My husband listened to your music back in 1990 while he was in Turkey, and loved you then.  You are definitely on my "want to see again" list. And, June, she was Awesome!!  Good luck in all your future endeavors.  :-)

I LOVE HIROSIMA!!!! a friend of mine turned me on to your group in 1980 in Houston, Tx. and I have been a loyal fan ever since. I have turned numerous people on to your music.. everytime I hear your songs I stop whatever I am doing to listen.. June you are a gifted musician and I love the Koto instrument. The beautiful sounds it makes and the blend of jazz, for me, totally captivates and moves me!! Funny, I have never seen your group live before, but this coming weekend in Norfolk, Va. I will finally get to see my favorite group !! Me and my wife and my two daughters (ages 20 and 16) will be in row 15. We cannot wait to see you.. I would give you a favorite song to play, but all of them are my favorite songs, so just play. I know I will be happy whatever you play........

I saw them in performance in 84 in San Diego at the Fox theatre leading off for Third world the Reggae band. Everyone there was there to see Third world except for me I knew them and had the three albums they had out to that point so I was hollering out what I wanted to hear to the point that Dan stopped the concert to say "I see that somebody out there know's us" Odori was my theme song for my senior year in high school I had a girl friend who fell in love with the song as well cause I played it so much congratulations to Dan and June on keeping it together in love and music the most of blessings for the rest of the band as well you guys have made me happy a whole bunch of days.......

Having been a fan from the begining I first heard them at a friends home back in 1979 the first album yes I said album I got it no sooner than after I heard it the cut "Da Da" I was like wow! The bass Obota had hooked me as I always had been intrigued by the sounds of the orient so it was a natural fit for me. I'd like to say I have never been the same since that first listen.

Your group is unique.  Take care and hope to see you all very soon.  Doomo arigato. Ogenki de mata aimasu.  You guys are the greatest!!! Much Aloha.  kagami

Hi Dan, June, and Guys!

My Significant other, Scott and I enjoyed the benefit this past Friday night, 06/26/2009 at the, Balboa Theatre so much, and we just wanted to let you know and to 'Thank You.'

My only saddness is that I now have an identity crisis as it seems niether you, Dan, nor June, remembered me from the outdoor party back in the eighties...  you played and I danced right there in front...  Lol!

We were up in the, Louge and had great seats too, (C-112 & 113).  I'll have to check out, Junes new CD too, as her expression(s) on the, Koto (sp?) is sooo totally mezmerizing!

Again, 'Thank You!'  and we are looking forward to your new CD comming out in, August.
Peace and Love, Elizabeth & Scott

Had the pleasure of seeing you guys for the first time in Largo, Florida on May 23rd  (Saturday evening) ,and the performance was remarkable. My wife and I have been fans since the 80's but we  have never had the opportunity to see you in the New England area ....so we traveled to Florida and made a short weekend very special by attending your concert. We felt like it was a private showing considering the size of the venue. It was tremendous! June.....we purchased your latest CD and we were not disappointed.....it is fantatstic.

Question: And i know you guys are busy ,but nothing ventured, nothing gained. This August 5th is our (Leslie and me Bill) 31st wedding anniversay. I'd love to be able to surprise her with an autographed photo of you guys.....any chance? needed to ask....more importantly thank you for bringing such beauty in our lives! Bill & Leslie DeCaporale

I was blown away last night at your concert in Largo Florida. I have never attended a concert where every musician in the group is a master musician. I was transported and inspired.  Please please come again soon. I also loved the intimate venue. . June's amazing and intense playing of the Koto has invoked in me a desire to learn this mysterious, beautiful and intense instrument. Spirt and Soul had me in tears. The tribute to Miles Davis, the Nile song was brilliant.  Also the chanting song reverberated thru out my being. Out of this world! I so thank you for sharing yourselves so deeply with us! Hi,
I first met your music in Seattle back in early 1980's and was fascinated by the sound.
I have your CD, "Third generation", "GO", "Another place" and "EAST".  Unfortunately, I have not found your album since I came back to Japan in 1982 and been wondering what happened to you guys.  But, when I have internet surfing I found your home page and immediately down load the new album.
I hope you can come over to Japan and have some concert!!

AT THAT TIME, I LISTEN TO WHUR IN WASHINGTON, DC WHICH HEAVILY PROMOTED YOUR SONGS AND HAVE BEEN HOOKED SINCE. THE FOREMENTIONED TUNES WERE PLAYING IN MY HEAD TODAY AND DID A WEB SEARCH IN ORDER TO HAVE ALL THE SONGS YOU HAVE EVER MADE AND ALSO TO FIND WHERE YOU ARE PERFORMING. FROM READING THE OTHER COMMENTS, I SEE YOU ARE PERFORMING IN HOUSTON AND I WILL BE THERE. I NEED TO KNOW WHEN AND WHERE YOU ARE PERFORMING AND YOUR SCHEDULE FOR THE REST OF 2009. I have almost all your albums, first few on LP and now all but 3 on CD. I also play bass guitar in an eclectic cover band, and was wondering if there is any chance of any of your stuff being transcribed. I do what I can by ear, but... My favorites at the moment are "Living in America" (from East)and "Be-Bop"(LA) (Yeah, I know it's a synth in Be Bop, but can be played by bassist, too...)Do you ever play jazz festivals? There are 2 a year down here in Cape May in NJ, and I think I'm going to suggest to them on their website that they consider you as one of their guest bands - if not, maybe House of Blues or one of the other venues in Atlantic City. I'd LOVE to hear you play live!

Hola from warm Phoenix, AZ!
I recently retired my last cd player and have been transfering all my cd collection to mp3 format. I came across your cd's and rediscovered what a great musical group you are.  I bought your first release in 1979! On cassette, and I still have that. I became an instant fan from the first time I heard your magical music.  What a trip I have enjoyed all the different varieties that are infused with all your music.  There is something so soulful and great for the ears from the wonderful koto to the beautiful voices.  I hope to see you next time you come to Arizona.  I hear you on KYOT, but really not enough play time.
Take Care and looking forward to your next release.

I, too, was there from the very start, burning up the grooves on the eponymous debut & "Odori", two of your more traditionally breathtaking efforts. I managed to glom onto that first album on CD reissue, but missed Odori.

I now see it listed as Out-of-Stock on your site. But does that mean for good or temporarily? I just gotta hear "Cruisin J-Town" , "Fortune Teller" & "Winds of Change" again. If this disc is no longer gonna be printed, mind if I request you put the tracks up for sale on your site or elsewhere?

Hello Hiroshima!

Been a fan since the beginning! I picked up a cassette when I was stationed in Iwakuni. As luck would have it, I rotated back Stateside when y'all were touring, in Hiroshima, with Al DiMeola!!

Good to see that the core group is still together. Your inspiration has led to a love of shakuhachi, koto, and taiko music (thought about building one from a Kentucky whiskey barrel.)

Fave songs are Holidays, Tabo, and One Wish (has it ever been played on a balafon?)

Thanks!

Dear Hiroshima -

I've just been introduced to your group by my aunt. Since then, I've been listening to your music intently and furiously. I have never heard a group play like you. Very unique. Very diverse. Very spiritual.
I am a curious Japanese/American musician, (born in Japan, and adopted at an early age), and am constantly searching for music like yours...Something to expand my horizon and add color to it. Your music has done so. I own your album Between Black&White, which I have and will listen to over and over again.
Thanks so much for your contribution to the world!

Been in love with you guys since...what was I, 11? When I first started listening to Jazz. My two favorite songs by Hiroshima are "One Thursday Morning" (because the koto is very beautiful, especially in this song) and "Hiro Chill" which I've listened to about 300 times. I'm 16 now, and I really wish that I could go to at least one of your concerts.

Love you guys, so please keep being awesome!

Just heard you in concert in Las Vegas - a great concert! Been a fan since about 1981 during my Navy days while stationed in Yokosuka.
You mentioned in the Las Vegas concert about your next CD being a compilation of some of your previous CDs. I hope you will include the songs "Odori" and "Winds of Change (Henka No Nagare)."
Keep it coming and blessings!

I have enjoyed your music from the beginning. My cousin, Warren Johnson bought you to Crampton Auditorium I believe it was 1977 or 1978 Goodvibes Productions. I have since love your music and see you whenever you're in DC. I missed you at the Birchmere in Oct. however I flew to Las Vegas to see you at the Santa Fe Station. I will travel anywhere to enjoy your music live. Hopefully in LA in Dec. If I can't make it I will be to see you in the new year no matter where you play. You've made me an old groupie.

As I type this I'm at the Marriott Associa Hotel in downtown Nagoya. It's quite a thrill to sit up here on the 36th floor looking down at the city at night listening to your East or Go CD's on my Ipod!! Never thought I'd get to see Japan but here I am!

What a beautiful country and people!!

I just met a young Japanese guy in Seattle who is here studying English.  He is also a drummer and has a band in Japan.  I asked if he had ever heard of the band Hiroshima, which he had not.  I told him a little about the band and of seeing you live, at the Moore Theater, which was the first time I ever saw a koto being played.  The uniqueness of that instrument, my first live experience of it and the fabulous, funky & traditional context of the music and performance it was part of made that evening transcendent.

I really enjoy your music and I only recently discovered it. It sounds wonderful. Please, keep recording and it would be great if you toured Japan at some point. I'm in the U.S. military in Tokyo, and love the Japanese culture and people. I have made a lot of friends and it is fun to exchange cultural traditions and ideas...I think your music symbolizes that. It's great!

I've just recently started to listen to your music and find it wonderfully refreshing. I especially enjoy the melding of the traditional jazz instruments (sax, bass, piano/keyboards) with the Japanese instruments.
I saw the band play in the Razz Room, Hotel Nikko in SF on Friday 10/10 at the 9:30 performance. You all seemed to be on the mark and playing smoothly. I was lucky enough to be sitting up front with my girlfriend and we really felt the vibe.
You all are great and I can't wait to be able to see my second Hiroshima show next time you play the SF Bay Area.

After years of listening to your music, the opportunity finally presented itself to see you live and what a privilege.  I can't remember having the chance to see you in the past.  One thing that drew me to your music, other than the fact it's real good jazz, was the koto and how it's employed into your music.  I got chill bumps when the concert started and the sound of koto filled the air.  My wife had really never heard your music and she also enjoyed the concert.  Dan, I'm sorry HIROSHIMA has never felt love from Florida.  I'm hoping after last night all of you felt it and will consider returning to Tampa or Clearwater (Ruth Eckerd Hall) on your 30th Anniversary Tour next year.

So here we are...another year gone by, and this is Show Number Four. Have you guys ever considered bottling and selling whatever it is that makes you so timeless and super? Danny, Shoji, Dean and Kimo have never been better and you and June...words fail me. BTW, I have been to "Nawlins" on a business trip since the last concert, and yes, got a chance to chow down at Mother's, so now "Red Beans and Rice" truly has special meaning for me. Darn it, we STILL didn't get a chance to stop by and give you a shout-out, but even with these rough times now, (and ESPECIALLY because of them), there was no freakin' way we were missing you all when you came back to town. Well, thanks again for ninety blissful minutes of "making the world go away," and until we see you again for Number Five, ALOHA!

Me and my partner finally saw you on September 20, 2008. It took 19 years to see you and be back into the one whom I fell in love with 19 years ago. Your music kept us alive all these years. I would love it if you could send us a 8x10 black and white picture of you guys to put up with the program you autographed in Cerritoes. Thank You!!!!  Love, Shamsi & Anna

Hi!
My husband and best friend were at your concert last night at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center and loved it! It far exceeded my expectations! The only concern I have, however, is the lighting that was used. Although it was very effective at times, when the lights shone into the audience, they were blinding and gave me a headache. We had to hold our programs up several times to shield our eyes from the glare. My friend who was with us is a registered nurse and she said that the lights could even cause someone to have  a seizure. Please rethink your lighting and don't have the lights shine directly at the audience.

I REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I HEARD "CRUISN J TOWN". MY DAD HAD IT ON CASSETTE THAT HE HAD PICKED UP AT THE BX ON BASE. WE HAD JUST MOVED TO YOKOTA AFB, JAPAN AND I WAS STILL GETTING USED TO LIVING IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. HOWEVER, WHEN I HEARD THAT SONG I REALLY GOT A SENSE OF WHAT THE CULTURE AND PEOPLE WERE REALLY LIKE AND I MADE A POINT OF IMMERSING MYSELF IN IT. FALLING IN LOVE WITH THE COUNTRY IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT AND WAS SAD WHEN WE HAD TO LEAVE MANY YEARS LATER AND MOVED HERE TO CALIFORNIA IN 1981. I HAVE SEEN YOU GUYS SO MANY TIMES AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED WHEN I AM WALKING TO MY CAR. I WILL BE PICKING UP THE NEW CD FOR SURE.
MAY THE LORD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES..

I'm currently a student at the University of Georgia. I and fellow group mates of my ethnomusicology class were recently assigned a research paper in which we were supposed to focus on any element of Asian American music. We chose Asian American Jazz and we chose to look more specifically  at the music of Hiroshima. I was hoping very much to be able to interview via e-mail either a member of the band or someone associated with the band in order to use the interview in our research. This would mean a great deal to us. Thank you very much.

Got some great photos of y'all tonight! Loaded them on MySpace (dardardude) but need to finish captions. Great to see y'all again!

I vow to buy as much of your music that is available. I tried to acquire your music online thru BMG Music, but they don't have any of your CD's, which reallly surprised me. I said to myself that I had to find out who it was, and ever since I did, I haven't been able to stop listening>< And although I'm just 16 at the time, I've grown to love your music with a passion. It's so peaceful and serene enough to calm me from any situation. Thank you so much for creating such wonderful music. It really is cool.

Aloha to you all.
I remember making it a point to see the group whenever they participated during summertime in 'Jazz at Hilltop' in Richmond, CA back in the early nineties.  I truly enjoy your music.  Do you have any planned gigs on the Big island of Hawaii?  We were at the Hilton Waikoloa Dolphin Days Festival and the group's name came up so I was just wondering.  I will definitely be there!
Mahalo for your time.

We saw your show yesterday at Thornton Winery in Temecula, Calif., and it was sensational! (Poor June, who suffered in the blazing sun -- "God's spotlight," as Dan called it -- thankfully got some relief in the form of an audience member's big, red hat). Dan talked about keeping the joy of music alive and we could really see it in the performances. Thanks to all of you for sharing your music, and your many talents.

I was intoduced to Hiroshima in 1980 when I was in the US Air Force and living in the dorm with my roommate Ken Washington from Front Royal, VA.  He put you guys on the "record player" - LOL in our room because I play the alto sax and he said have you heard of this group.  I said NO,  the rest is HISTORY.  I have loved your music since that day in 1980 and have bought  every album/CD since.  I always think of my friend KEN when I play your music.  Thank you and HIM.

I do hope you can do a live performance sometime here in Ohio....Columbus and/or Cincinnati???? Thank you June & the band for playing that special engagement (just over a year ago) in honor of PJ & Roy of San Jose Taiko.  The music was phenominal!  Meeting you & the band while all of you autographed your pre-released CD was very special.  I bought an extra one, which I took to  Vancouver, B.C., Canada & gave it to my cousin. Your music is phenomenal!  I love listening you play the Koto. When I listen to you play it, I get 'lost in the music' & I almost feel transported to a Japan of the past ancient times. Your music is breathtaking! I remember hearing your music back in the 80's & thinking, "Wow!" You & your band are still very unique & genuine. What is very special is that you always take time to be gracious so all your fans, no matter how exhausted you must be  after doing a sold out concert.
Keep creating music that is unique. Anyone who hears your music, can tell it is "Hiroshima". Thank you.  Roz (San Jose, CA)

To my surprise as I grew closer to the music of Hiroshima I found that guy was with the group...John Mori! Thanks so much for the experience of beautiful music and keep up the good works!

I bought the Way of Tea along with two midori ball caps.  All of the songs are outstanding, the physical disc is attractive and very beautiful and I like the Earth-friendly packaging.  I'm now using the CD for doing Yoga and 'Tai Chi. I really appreciate your packaging it in such an Earth-friendly way.  It makes a lot of sense and is good for the environment.  I'll continue to purchase June's and Hiroshima CDs come what may but if the band continues to do so, it will make it easier for those in the burgeoning conservation movement to continue to purchase them.  Its' really appropriate and shows a great deal of spirituality that makes me glad to have gotten the CD.
The Way of Tea makes me think of the garden I'm planting and the sheer splendor of eating vegetables and drinking tea grown from one's own garden.
I neither read nor heard June's comments concerning Native Americans but it must've been something special.
My sister-in-law heard the Way of Tea while we drove back from the early morning Worship Service Wednesday and I think you just won another fan.

Hi, I'm a fan from Korea.

I heard '1000 cranes' from some Korean Radio Jazz Program and it was really haunting and soothing melody for me. Besides, you have unique and natural color of Asian and American smooth jazz! I have been a jazz and rock drummer and now I am studying piano for my own composition, So your music were very impressive and encouraging art works for me as an Asian musician. If you can make a schedule for Asian Tour,
Please visit my beautiful country, too.

Take care and
Hope to see you again~!

Wow!  You all put on an awesome show in Phoenix!  I especially want to thank June for her comment about Native Americans.  I am a proud Native American woman that loves jazz and I find your music very inspirational.  June, thank you for respecting Native Americans and thank you for being vocal about it.  Unfortunately, a lot of folks in Phoenix are close-minded when it comes to Native American issues.  Good luck and I hope to see you in concert again!

I brought my first CD of your music last year, and it has given me such joy! I had never heard of your group or music, but the title sounded appealing to me, so I chose Obon. It's the most listened CD I own! I brought it online from BMG Music, but when I went back to buy more of your CD's, they didn't have you listed, that's when I found your website. I first thought this was the onlly CD you made until I arrived at your site. Needless to say, I'm beside myself seeing you have so many more to enjoy. I will be buying more off your site if possible. I fell in love with your work and I hope you come the Philadelphia soon so I can enjoy your group in person. Thanks for you efforts and sound.:) Peace!

What a hugely wonderful concert last night in Phoenix AZ.
We just love the "new" sound you are going for. You are always reinventing Hiroshima yet it still has a Hiroshima vein in it. "Red Bens and Rice" was fun and an excellant exmple of what we mean. Exciting. Keep it up.

You asked for suggestions of songs that must be on your "Best of ...CD" next year on your big anniversary.

Well you must have "Turning Point" and "One Wish".
there is no doubt that those two songs are among Hiroshima's best.
Thank you all,  Norm & Bev- Phoenix AZ

If I never got around to saying so, June, thank you for sending us the invitation to your private performance at the Buddhist Temple sometime back.  I wanted to express my gratitude in the mail but unfortunately lost the invitation and the return address in a flood in R's house.  Nevertheless for R and me, as members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo gratitude has no statute of limitations for us.  I regret having lost it and taking so long to show my appreciation for it.

I FIRST saw you guys, & the INCREDIBLE June, in July of 1993 during your PROVIDENCE Tour, at the Carter Baron Amphitheater in Washington D.C.

Eight ticket stubs later and holding onto a fading memory of another moving performance at the Birchmere in Annapolis, your East Coast Family is DYING for you to release a CONCERT DVD!! Please let your fans know that such a project is in the works. Finding bootleg copies of Hiroshima on YOUTUBE is BOTH near impossible and could NEVER do you justice!! Hope all is well with each of you and am eagerly waiting for a chance to pick up that ninth ticket stub!!

Should your promoters and mangers FINALLY agree that is is time to release a DVD, you MUST include past footage of Johnny playing the Taiko!! Your interactions and genuine caring for each other, over the years, has inspired millions to bring you into their circle of loved ones!

FINALLY, THANK YOU for playing TURNING POINT at the Birchmere!! It is MY favorite and one of the most beautiful songs I have EVER heard in my life!!

I am probably the only truckdriver fan that you have. I have been a fan since the 80's, when you were doing the Hawaiian Electric company promos on tv. Thats how I discovered you. I have only seen you once in concert. That was New Years Eve 1988(If I remember correctly). Hiroshima played at Blaisdell center in Honolulu. You probably don't recall that nite, but rainfall records were being made and broken around that day. It was raining so hard you could hear the rain pound on the roof of Blaisdell center between songs. In the moutains east of Honolulu, there were record mudslides that were tearing  up streets and roads.
But I remember that nite fondly, mostly because of the awsome performance you put on. I look forward to seeing you again, perhaps if you ever get to the Atlanta, Ga. area. Sincerely, John K. Cochrane

Dear Hiroshima

I bought "Little Tokyo" about a week ago and have played it many times.  I'd just like to thank you all for providing me with so many great hours of listening pleasure over the years.  I am inspired by your musical message.  I think the first tape I bought was "Go" or "East".  I've got just about everything you ever recorded.  It would be hard for me to single out one particular recording because I like them all so much.  It's New Year's Eve of 2007.  I sincerely wish all of you an outstanding year in 2008 and please release another collection of tunes soon!  You should do a collaboration with Brian Auger and then my two favorite bands/artists on the planet would be performing together!!

It's hard for me to do justice in mere words to how deeply your music resonates with me.  I play it a lot.  I replay it in my mind a lot.  It speaks to me deeply.

with the very highest regards

Pete Janzen

Hiroshima,

We just attended your 6th Annual "Spirit of the Season" holiday concert in Little Tokyo. This was our 3rd time.

Again, you each performed brilliantly and with great heart. Guest stars Terry Steele, Tets Nakamura and Yvette Nii were memorable. Terry's "The Door is Open" was great to hear in person again. Tet's harmonica playing was mesmerizing.

We attended your outdoor concert during the summer at the Westlake Village (CA) Hyatt Hotel. We were exposed for the first time to your songs from the "Little Tokyo" album. Wow! The "Sir Charles" cut wanted to make me stand up and move to the music and the beat. We attended your past concerts at the Wolftrap Farm Amphitheater in Vienna, Virginia when we lived in northern Virginia.

We have been loyal Hiroshima fans from your  earliest days. We are loyal to you because of your wonderful music, your loyalty to your fans and your loyalty to the local community. Although you have become successful and well-known, we appreciate your humility and accessibility. You have truly expanded yourselves as musicians and people.

June, Dan, Danny, Kimo, Dean and Shoji: Thanks for continuing to bless us with great music. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas and a Happy 2008.

I remember going to dances in L.A. in the early 70's when Hiroshima used to perform - Blarney Castle, Roger Young, etc.  Your musical performances left a lasting impression on me, and I enjoy your music even more so today.

I missed your previous performances the last time you were in Phoenix.  I hope your schedule includes the Valley of the Sun!  Would love to see you again after these many years!

While attending college in the early eighties in the Monterey Park area, I was exposed to your musio at the same time I was first introduced to sushi, and the SJ's with their lowered cars in the area. I will forever be hooked on your music and will try to update my collection beyond Go and East which are precious gems by themselves. In the Palm Springs area, where I now live, I feel that your music would be a perfect fit for the Mccallum Theater in Palm Desert, CA.  It is an upscale concert hall that could use a class act such as Hiroshima.  Please come out to the desert area to visit us.  There are very few concerts that I can bring my kids to. Come take a ride on the Palm Springs Aerial Tram if you haven't done so yet.  Take care and keep up the great work that you do.
Sincerely reminiscing, Pete Johnson

Thank you so much for your wonderful music.  It is full of life, beauty, mystery, love, joy -- all the gifts that have been given to us.  You present them so delightfully and deliciously.  On behalf of all of us who soar with the vibration of healing harmony, calmness and excitement, I thank and bless you.

I have enjoyed your music for many years. I remember you once had a concert scheduled here in Portland, but it was cancelled. When I saw that you were performing in Seattle, I decided to go for it. My wife and I drove up on Sunday and saw your performance. I can't do justice to the experience of finally seeing and hearing you. My wife and I were both in tears. We love your music and we love your style and your heart. June's story about being mistaken for Keiko Matsui was revealing and heartwarming. It was an expensive weekend and a terrible drive home in the rain, but seeing you and hearing you was more rewarding than I can find words for. We will never forget you and that evening with you. I hope we can see you again.  Much love to all of you...

Hello Hiroshima,

Thank you for all the years of great music!  your music is so relaxing and calming to listen to, and I love that it's become so multi-cultural.  I attended your concert at the Radisson in Sacramento around 1991 with my then-ten year old daughter.  Iloved it, and was lucky enough to see you one other time at the Radisson (I think) and also at the top of the Hyatt (my memory is the greatest!)  I hope you'll perform in Sacramento again sometime.  I used to talk to Randy, an employee at the former Tower Records, and he told me how he'd get together with you when Hiroshima performed in Sac.  The first Hiroshima album I bought was the GO album; I fell in love with that album and Hiroshima!  I was exposed to the album on our local smooth jazz station, at that time called The Point, KQPT, 100.5.  My all-time favorite Hiroshima song is A Thousand Cranes; I just love it. It's so beautiful. I have all your CD's now except ODORI.  While trying to buy three CD's from Amazon.com last night to get free shipping, I looked for ODORI, but the one copy that is unopened was selling for about $75.00 (thru an indiviual seller). Other used, opened copies start at @$35.00.  Needless to say, I checked the Hiroshima site, only to find ODORI is out of stock.  I hope it will be back in stock soon so I can purchase it and complete my Hiroshima collection :-)  Meanwhile, I will periodically check your tour schedule and see if I can catch a concert in San Francisco or Oakland sometime...or maybe even in Sacramento?!

June, I have purchased your first CD, and I love it!  I will be ordering The Way of Tea in the near future.
Enough rambling...Happy Holidays to all of you...soon I'll be playing Spirit of the Season again.

A very long time ago Eimie O. told me about her big sister's band and let me listen to a tape she had.  I have been a fan ever since.  We missed seeing you twice in the 90s in Sacramento, and, alas, now I find that we missed you again in Seattle at the Triple Door. Maybe some day we'll get to see you play live.  Say hi to Eimie for me, please.

I have been a fan of yours since... well I can't even remember how long but I saw you in Cleveland, OH a long time ago.  I think June was kneeling on the stage and beating the Koto like a crazed woman, your percussion player was a short stocky fellow and you sounded wonderful. So fast forward to my trip to Las Vegas of Nov.2007 when I was so fortunate to see you perform again. I brought with me a new wife, who listens to county music, her son and his wife who are urban listeners and wife's cousin who speaks no English. You now have four more fans. I saw the fountains at the Bellagio, The "O" and all of the neon and things that glitter but you my friends were the icing on the cake for this guy.  What more can I say?  Thank you for your unusual style of smooth jazz with an edge. God bless you all in the future.

Hi,
I saw Hiroshima at the Railhead @ Boulder Station last night, and,as usual, they were GREAT!! However, about 80% of the way through the concert the "old folks" left the stage and let the 2 drummers do a duet. It might be the most incredible thing I've ever seen or heard at any concert. Ever! And I'm no kid anymore, sadly.
The group is still so tight, and I've seen them at least 20 times.
Come back to Vegas soon, and even if I'm the only one there, I promise I'll be on my feet the whole time.
Thanks, Jeff

Growing up in SoCal, Gardena, Hiroshima was a community band that a young Asian-American, Sansei could identify with. My memories of Roger Young Aud, playing Bob Kihara's wedding, trying to keep former Bass-player, Dane Matsumura awake in history after he had played a gig Sunday night, not sue if Dane was play with Beaudry Xpress at that time.
Anyway have been a fan/support since "back in the day" days.
It's been a great run, and hope it will continue.
Hope to see you in Seattle in a couple weeks.

Mahalo(Thank you) for your great and inspirational music.  Your style and multi-culture music really exemplifies the feeling of unity, cohesiveness and serenity.  The perfect blend of Asian and American-style music formatted together in jazz and 'new-age' really shows us how we can also live together in harmony.  Really enjoy all your music (listen daily).  Hope to see all of you at a concert in Hawaii.  Aloha!!!
My favorites:  "Distant Thoughts", "Another Place", "Thousand Cranes", "Swiss Ming".
Please keep up the great music.

Just got back from tonight's show at the Birchmere. Do you guys EVER give a bad live concert??? This is Number Three for me and my partner, and we enjoyed this one every bit as much as the last. I'm sorry that we couldn't stay longer and thank you in person, but I will show my thanks by grabbing a copy of LITTLE TOKYO and enjoying all the tracks you played at the show one more time - especially "Sir Charles" and "Red Beans And Rice." (That track makes me HUNGRY!) ;-)

As always, y'all just say the word and we'll have tickets in hand again when you make it back this way next year. Just keep "makin' it do what it do!" Take care and "Aloha!"

Hiroshima is one of the greatest bands in the world. A disc jockey turned me on to their sound back in the early 90's and have listened to them ever since. I'm a disabled Vet and have a lot medical problems but when I listen to their music it calms me down and relaxes me greatly their music is better medicine then what I take. I hope someday you will give a concert here in Tulsa Oklahoma because I would be the first in line to buy tickets. Just keep making music and don't ever stop. Just wanted to give a shout out to Hiroshima for a smooth groovin' time at Yoshi's.  Very mellow set with specs of subtlety and humor sprinkled throughout.  I noticed that your performance was being taped that night.  Where can a person pick up a "Hiroshima in Concert Live" DVD ?  We have parties now and then, and we usually have our plasma's going with some sort of live concert going on in the background in different rooms.  would be slammin' to have you guys live on DVD.

June, keep doin' what your doin with the fellas. Stay true to your heart, as you have always done.

Hiroshima,

My wife and I caught the sept 15, 8pm show at Yoshi's. We both enjoy all your songs, or ballads. You see, the last time we seen hiroshima was at the circle star theater. At this time I was courting my wife. Well, its been 25 years later, and we are still sticking together, as well as you. Of course, "One wish" is always memorable, along with the new "Shades of honor". We both love June. However, like she mentioned, i might not recognize her in a crowd. I believe the front row kept the chopsticks. Ha, Ha.  I especially appreciated a small part of the show when june mentioned, a creation of an album, with the spirit and soul of "Native Americans". My wife poked me in the ribs, and told me to stand up. Ha, Ha. Well, how can we show you much appreciation. My wife and I would like to sign off ............and say.................. "THANK YOU".     J.J.

I have listened to Hiroshima for 25 years fist seeing them on American Bandstand!! The versatility of their music, the sometimes subtle or strong Japanese influence is awesome. I have listened to many other Asian musicians, but they are just not the seem. I have several 'vinyl' albums by them, downloaded songs from the internet and even watched a cooking show because this group provided the theme music. Guess I am a fan huh? Well, for sure if they still perform, I will seek a front row seat.

I love how you put "One Wish" at the end of every show (at least all the ones I have been to).  LOVE it!  Can you put "One Wish" at the end of every album?  That would be PERFECT!!!

I LOVE June's "Way of Tea" with just piano. I am giving it as gifts to all my friends who love classical piano and Japanese culture!  This is a perfect combination of the best of all cultures: Jazz, Japan, piano, classical music, and Hiroshima!  LOVE IT!

Hi Guys,
it's your favorite Marine.  I've re-located to the East coast, just outside Philadelphia so I can be close to my kids.  Still in the Marines though.  I miss you guys and love your music everyday.   You are the best.  Keep bringing peace to this world through your music.

Hi from Victoria, if memory serves, you played in Vancouver some years ago. At Humphrey's in 1990, as I was waiting for your show to begin, a security man stopped June and I heard her tell him,"I'm with the Band". You just may remember this, after the show,I came to the stage with a dance version of the record "Another Place" you all signed it for me.It wasn't til later I discovered I hadn't taken the $1.99 0r $2.99 price tag off. I want you to know that your evocative healing Music may well have contributed to my complete recovery from Cancer. Ongaku ichi ban.

Love your mission statement and music. I am hosting an event with a Hiroshima survivor, Takashi Tenamori  at our Community Center in Berkeley. He was blinded by the blast as an 8 years old and now lives in the U.S. He has a new book coming out (August 2007) Hiroshima; Bridge to Forgiveness and is talking always about forgiving his enemies and making a bridge between the two cultures. He truly a lovely spirit..I am hoping when you come to Oakland in September he will be my guest at your concert....

What a show you all put on last night in Escondido, Ca.  My wife, Susie and I have been big fans since first seeing you at Humphrey's back in the late '80s.  You have a great new look and the music is as fresh as when we first heard you.  We really enjoyed the dancers.  They were fantastic and your music put the audience in a whole new world.  We can't wait to see you again in San Diego, maybe at Humphrey's.  God Bless you and your mission to improve the world with multicultural music and experiences.

Dearest Hiroshima,

Your music is beyond "magical". I have been listening to your hypnotic sound ever since 1986, as a child in middle school, and have never forgotten the surreal harmonic bliss your music has attained. Hiroshima is beyond beautiful. I finally had the chance to go to Tokyo and while there, played your music as I walked through the city, thinking of how lovely the culture is, the people and how beautiful it is when you fuse Jazz with African American sounds and the cultural and historic sounds of Japanese musical artistry. You will always be my number (#1) group, forever. If you are ever playing in the Greensboro, North Carolina area, please send me information regarding the dates. I'd love to see you in concert. May you forever continue to harmonize, synchronize, and magically hypnotize our ears with your beautiful artistic sounds. Forever, Hiroshima!!!

Hello to everyone in the band!  My husband and I have been listening to your music ever since Howard University's radio station, WHUR started playing your music back in the late 70s.  We missed your last concert at the Birchmere and hope that you will be coming back to the Washington, DC & Baltimore, MD area.  Could you send us a tour schedule of all of your upcoming concerts for 2007-2008?  My husband and I are even willing to come to California if we have to (SMILE); we've been trying to plan a summer trip to California, but because of my husband's job, we had to postpone coming out to the West Coast last year, but are making plans for this summer--keep up the excellent work and hope to be listening to you in person soon!  Wishing you much continued success, Rosalind and Charles Whittaker

Hello,

I am a Japanese living in San Antonio, TX.  I usually tune in "Bay Smooth Jazz" internet radio station.  Every time I hear a characteristic music, the Koto sound, and the melody, I check who is playing.  That's Hiroshima.

So, today, I finally googled what it is, and found this site.  It's interesting how you integrate Koto into a jazz sound!

Thanks for your beautiful music.

Been enjoying your grooves since the early Street Faire days here in San Francisco.  Miss those days but still keep it alive by listening to your cds.

Had a question about a song, Tabo.  Can you tell me what the background of the song is.  My guess it is a combination of our many Nisei and Sansei friends who have had an effect on our lives.

Cheers hope to see you on tour soon.

It has been a pleasure to listen to your music over the years. I first heard your music stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines in 1984. The Armed Forces network (the Television portion)used a brief clip of your song " Distant Thoughts " from the album Third Generation as a prelude between programming. I must have bugged the station for weeks until they could tell me the artist of the song. I have been a fan ever since. I am sure your musical journey has not been without moving and haunting melodies to thousands. You have such immesurable talents and provide inspiration that already is legendary. May all your endeavors be as great as they have been.

Thank-You
